Gregg Halverson has been named chairman of the Northern Plains Potato Growers Association.
Halverson, president and chief executive officer of Grand Forks, N.D.-based Black Gold Farms, succeeds Josh Heuchert, according to a news release from the East Grand Forks, Minn.-based association. Halverson will serve a one-year term.
Halverson has served on the association’s research committee and on the environmental affairs committee of the Washington, D.C.-based National Potato Council.
The association has elected two other officers: Jeff Van Ray (vice president) and Carl Hoverson (secretary-treasurer). They also will serve one-year terms.
