Jim Heeren, president, said the company broke ground on the new building in February. It totals about 185,000 square feet, with the latest technology on the distribution center side and the apple packing line, Heeren said.
“It’s great to have both operations under one roof,” Heeren said.
“It gives us a little more net space but it will really speed out packing lines because of the robotics we installed.”
Heeren had operated two apple-packing and storage facilities and a warehouse distribution center in west Michigan.
Those operations are now at the new facility in Alpine Township.
