King Fresh Produce, Dinuba, Calif., is known nationwide for its grapes, citrus fruits and pomegranates, but in the Midwest the company has a growing reputation for its locally grown program, said owner Keith Wilson.
To help manage the growth, the company added a marketing coordinator position to its Missouri office earlier this year. Tosha Loyd works in that position along with merchandising director Adam Millburn in the company’s Trenton, Mo. office.
Loyd grew up in the area on her family’s farm, which included about 3,000 acres of row crops. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration marketing at Missouri Western State University. Before joining King Fresh, Loyd worked in marketing in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
In addition to locally grown produce from the Midwest, Loyd said pomegranates from King Fresh are a particularly popular commodity with regional retailers. Last year the company introduced a black pomegranate box that Loyd said retailers requested again this year.
