With sales in the Kansas City metropolitan area increasing at double-digit rates in 2012 and 2013, Loffredo Fresh Produce, Des Moines, Iowa, has added to its buying and sales staffs.
Gene Loffredo, president and chief executive officer of the fourth-generation produce company, said fresh-cut sales are a key factor in the company’s 11% annual sales growth in the Kansas City region.
He also said response to the company’s Hwy 28 Farms brand, introduced last year, has been positive.
Loffredo hired a new buyer, Ben Ireland, at its Des Moines headquarters. Ireland was formerly with FreshPoint Inc., Jacksonville, Fla.
In Loffredo’s Kansas City office, two new salesmen are on staff, Joe Pryor and Tim Green. Loffredo’s also has offices in Omaha, Neb., Iowa’s Quad Cities area and Madison, Wis.
