IMMOKALEE, Fla. — Lipman Family Cos. has named Toby Purse as interim chief executive officer as it searches for a new CEO after Larry Lipman officially retired.
On Jan. 8, Lipman Family Cos., which grows and packs tomatoes and other vegetables through Six L’s Packing Co. Inc. and Custom Pak, promoted Purse, its chief financial officer and chief accounting officer, to interim CEO, president and chief operating officer.
Purse has worked for Lipman Family Companies since 2004 when he joined as controller and later was promoted to chief financial officer and chief accounting officer.
“My tenure at LFC has been and continues to be a first class experience, including the time I spent working directly with Larry,” Purse said in a news release. “His many years of produce experience have been invaluable to my professional growth. Now I look forward to the new challenge as interim CEO.”
Purse, with a background in finance, has been with the firm for 6 years.
Lipman, who formally left his position Jan. 5, has worked for the family owned company for more than 50 years.
“I have no doubt Toby will do a terrific job of working with the LFC family and continuing our tradition of success,” he said in the release.
