Mann Packing Company Inc., Salinas, Calif., is introducing a new vegetable platter in celebration of El Grito, Mexico’s independence day.

Mann’s Fiesta Tray with salsa ranch dip features fresh-cut broccoli, baby peeled carrots and sugar snap peas and is decorated in the red, white and green colors of the Mexican flag. That’s part of the tradition for the Sept. 16 holiday, which is celebrated with fiestas and parades in major American cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego, according to a Mann Packing news release.

“We had tremendous success with similar in-and-out holiday platters for St. Patrick’s Day and Cinco de Mayo,” Lorri Koster, vice president of marketing for Mann Packing, said in the release. “These holiday vehicles are a great way to drive incremental sales and get consumers thinking ‘produce’ when they think party.”
