(May 16, 11:44 a.m.) Mann Packing Co., Salinas, Calif., is joining the fun — and potentially, the profit — of the Reynolds Wrap summer grilling program.

Beginning this month and running throughout the summer, Reynolds Wrap will be featured in free-standing displays in produce departments across the country, providing ideas and instructions for grilling to shoppers.

Now in its third year, Mann’s expects good results from the joint promotion.

“There’s great brand recognition (with Reynolds),” said spokeswoman Lorri Koster. “We share similar goals. Our core line of products is cooking vegetables, so to put them in foil and cook them on the grill makes sense.”

Composed of several components, the displays will include grilling recipe books and 55-cents-off coupons for any Mann’s fresh-cut vegetables, Koster said.

The promotion’s goal is to encourage shoppers to try recipes from the Reynolds kitchen that highlight Mann vegetables like grilled chicken salad with stringless sugar snap peas and teriyaki pork chops made with California stir fry.

“We like the vehicle and we get lots of consumer inquiries as a result,” Koster said. “We see high coupon redemption, and what’s great for a company our size, is that Reynolds handles all of the creative and production.”
