About 2,500 stores in 24 states participated in the spring Produce for Kids campaign, said Heidi McIntyre, executive director.

This year, the Orlando, Fla.-based organization added new Ideal Meals recipe and information cards as a merchandising component.

The recipes were developed with families in mind, McIntyre said.

Ideal Meals was inspired by 2008 research in which mothers said they’d like in-store access to more meal solutions and recipes using fresh fruits and vegetables.

The fall’s campaign theme will be Eat Smart for a Great Start, McIntyre said.
