The website for Yale University’s Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity in July listed the Vidalia, Ga.-based Vidalia Onion Committee’s Shrek marketing campaign as among the best food marketing practices.

Wendy Brannen, executive director of the committee, said she knew the campaign had potential for success, but she was surprised by how much national media attention it garnered.

Reports ran on CNN’s website, in The Wall Street Journal, on ABC World News and on the Entertainment Weekly website, among other places.
