Watsonville, Calif.-based Sambrailo Packaging has introduced the Mixim 6-ounce clamshell for bushberries, said Jim Scattini, director of new business development.

“This new item has been designed to allow for more trays on a pallet than the conventional 6-ounce bushberry clamshell, thus improving cube and saving on freight expenses,” Scattini said.

Scattini said the new clamshell is square and more shallow than conventional clamshells. That will allow shippers to stack four extra tiers per pallet, which means an additional 576 clamshells per pallet.

Scattini said the clamshells are made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, and are recyclable.
