Just a year after launching the expansion of its marketing program to the East Coast, Dulcinea Farms LLC, Ladera Ranch, Calif., added produce veteran Mike Agar to its staff.

 Agar, who has been in the produce industry for 25 years, will be area manager for eastern and offshore operations, the company said in a news release. He comes to Dulcinea from L&M Cos. Inc., Raleigh, N.C., where he concentrated on growing melons on the East Coast and in Central America, the release said.

 â€œThe addition of Mike Agar will provide significant value to Dulcinea’s company initiatives by deepening our experience in order to build successful East Coast and Offshore programs,” Justin Schmidt, director of operations, said in the release.

 Dulcinea Farms markets PureHeart watermelons, Tuscan-Style cantaloupes and Rosso Bruno tomatoes along with fresh cut melons under the Dulcinea and Garden Highway labels.
