Jonathan Baros has joined N.C. MarketReady, the outreach arm of North Carolina’s cooperative extension.

Baros comes from Texas where he was a cooperative extension program specialist based at Texas A&M University and helped grower-shippers to evaluate and implement strategic risk management plans.

In the newly created position, Baros is charged with developing programs to help North Carolina fruit and vegetable growers explore economic options and optimize profits, according to a news release.

“The addition of Jonathan with his expertise in farm business management will enhance our efforts as we develop resources for agricultural producers and extension agents across the state,” Rod Gurganus, director of N.C. MarketReady, said in the release.

Baros is based at the N.C. research campus, Kannapolis, in the university’s Plants for Human Health Institute.
