(Aug. 13, 11:53 a.m.) All Things Organic is staying in Chicago for its 2009 conference and trade show, but has new partners and a new date.

The event, originally scheduled for April 4-7 at McCormick Place, has moved to June 16-18 and will co-locate with Expo Comida Latina and All Asia Food.

Barbara Haumann, press secretary for the Organic Trade Association, Greenfield, Mass., the organizers of All Things Organic, said the change came about after another co-locator, The Fancy Food Show, dropped out of the April event.

The change to June will help give some breathing room between other competing shows, Haumann said.

“We thought, ‘Let’s re-think when to have the show and find a more auspicious date than what we were thinking in April,’” Haumann said.

Expo Comida Latina and All Asia Foods are logical partners and the Chicago setting has been good for All Things Organic, Haumann said.

“We were in Austin for three years and we’ve been in Chicago since (2004) and have been very pleased with it as a venue, so we wanted to stay here,” she said. “It’s a great place to bring buyers.”

All Things Organic had more than 600 exhibitor booths in 2008 and 12,000 attendees.

Organic trade show stays in Chicago, moves to June
The All Things Organic conference and trade show has a revised date, but the same location, for 2009. Moving the event back will help give some breathing room between other competing shows, says Barbara Haumann, press secretary for the Organic Trade Association, Greenfield, Mass.
