The Produce Marketing Association, Newark, Del., has hired Marguerite Prueitt as executive director of the PMA Foundation for Industry Talent.
Prueitt, who started May 24, succeeds Cindy Seel, and reports to Bryan Silbermann, PMA president and chief executive officer, according to a news release. Prueitt will serve as the staff liaison to the FIT board of directors and is responsible for all program activities and fund development, according to the release.
Prueitt most recently served as executive director of The Committee of 100 in Wilmington, Del., a nonprofit group that promotes responsible economic development in Delaware, according to the release.
Prueitt also served chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula in Wilmington, Del., from 1988-2008, where she led Red Cross programs and services for more than 1 million people in nine counties, managing as many as 49 employees and more than 1,500 volunteers with a budget of $3.6 million, according to the release.
At PMA FIT, Prueitt’s role will be to build and maintain relationships with donors, other industry talent programs, industry organizations, academic institutions worldwide, federal and state governments and other publics, according to the release. She also serves as FIT’s spokesperson in outreaching to media, industry and other groups.
Seel left the foundation in early March to become executive vice president of the Atlanta-based Printing and Imaging Association of Georgia.
