The Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit 2009 is offering traceability solutions on the expo floor this year.

The Oct. 2-5 summit in Anaheim, Calif., features a Produce Traceability Learning Center to help attendees understand the Produce Traceability Initiative and talk with retailers, according to an Aug. 5 news release.

According to PMA, the Produce Traceability Learning Center covers:

  • The Produce Traceability Initiative’s seven milestones;

  • Live milestone workshops and Q&As with retailers;

  • The basics of the PTI;

  • One-on-one talks with leading produce traceability experts including PMA Vice President of Industry Technology and Standards Gary Fleming, and representatives from GS1 U.S.; and

  • Information from leading traceability companies.

Famous Software, Fresno, Calif., is the learning center’s presenting company, and the center will feature other traceability companies, according to the new release.

The center will be open during all expo hours and from 11a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 3, from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 4, and  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5

PMA plans to present a workshop on traceability as part of the Fresh Summit educational programming, according to the news release, from 2:45 to 4 p.m. Oct. 2
