(Aug. 5, 1:39 p.m.) The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC), Eagle, Idaho, selected a winner of its second annual iTuber Take II video contest. Entrants submitted a short video creatively showcasing Idaho potatoes.

“We thought this would be an efficient way to reach our younger target audience. I have been blown away by the creativity that we’ve seen,” said Frank Muir, President and chief executive officer of the IPC.

Scott Winn of Rexburg, Idaho, won first place and the $3,000 grand prize. John Lars Lindstrom of Glendora, Calif., and Lantz Barbour of Silver Spring, Md., were the runners up and won $1,000 each. Michael Cochran of Wilder, Idaho, won first prize in the Idaho high school video contest. All qualifying entrants received an MP3 player.

The winning videos debuted at SpudFest, Idaho’s family film festival. Dawn Wells, the founder of SpudFest, who also played Mary Ann on the TV show Gilligan’s Island, presented the winning videos Aug. 2 at the Idaho Film and Television Institute in Driggs, Idaho.

Entries were judged based on three categories: creativity and uniqueness (50%), video production quality (25%) and writing and acting (25%). All iTuber Take II entries can be viewed at www.iTuber.org.
