Associated Growers adds to sales staff
Associated Growers Inc., Grand Forks, N.D., has added Jeff Lazur and Matthew Kugler to its sales staff, said president Paul Dolan.
Kugler previously worked for Russ Davis Wholesale, Wadena, Minn.
Lazur previously spent 12 years at Britton Transport, Grand Forks, N.D., brokering trucks. He also is a grower.
“Jeff is a long-time local potato man and has been involved with the industry all his life,” Dolan said.
Associated salesman Jim LeQuire, 66, died of a heart attack in May. He had been with the company since 2011.
Lone Wolf adds packing capacity
Lone Wolf Farms, Minto, N.D., has added a packing line to its facility, said salesman Chris Bjorneby.
Bjorneby said the new line produces 2,000-pound totes for repacking customers, who represent roughly one-fourth of Lone Wolf’s sales. Bjorneby said the new line will increase the company’s packing capacity by 20%.
Northern Valley earns Primus certification
Northern Valley Growers, Hoople, N.D., has received PrimusLabs food safety certification for its warehouse, said Kevin Olson, owner of Ben Holmes Potato, the Becker, Minn., company that handles sales for Northern Valley.
“More and more customers are demanding third-party auditing,” Olson said. “At a minimum, farmers have to be GAP-certified. More customers also want audits from places like Primus.”
