The Irvine-based California Avocado Commission will conduct an on-pack promotion of avocados and pico de gallo this season with Delta, British Columbia-based Houweling’s Tomatoes, said Jan DeLyser, the commission’s vice president of marketing.

“We’ll do social media and Web communications in support of that promotion,” DeLyser said.

The campaign will involve 4 million packages of tomatoes and will be “a highly visible promotion in the summertime,” she said.

Houweling’s has a greenhouse operation in Camarillo, Calif.
