Chef, nutritionist, author and Food Network star Ellie Krieger is working with the California Table Grape Commission this summer on a satellite media tour, new videos and plans for a new TV show.
The satellite media tour targets an international audience and is set for July, said Jeff Cardinale, vice president of communications at the Fresno-based commission.
“The tour will discuss the portability and ease of enjoying California grapes at home, the office, the practice field or anywhere consumers go,” Cardinale said. Krieger also will discuss health benefits of grape consumption and provide recipe ideas.
On the tour Krieger plans to provide details about her latest project, a new show on PBS. It’s aimed at helping families expand their recipe choices by using fresh ingredients such as California grapes.
She is also scheduled to shoot five grapes videos this year, each discussing ways to incorporate grapes into meals, snacks, desserts, drinks and more. The videos are set to air on the Grapes from California Facebook and Twitter pages.
They also will appear on the commission’s website and Food Network’s grapes page.
Social media users also can participate in a contest featuring Krieger, already underway as June started, on Pinterest and Facebook. It showcases her California grape recipes and offers prizes for re-pinning them to a contestant’s Pinterest page or posting to their Facebook page.
Krieger also plans media stops in New York and Los Angeles this summer that will promote her new television show and California grapes.
In October, fans will have a chance to meet Krieger at the Grapes from California booth at the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo in Atlanta.
