Sun Belle relocating to facility in Maryland
Sun Belle Inc. plans to move from its Washington, D.C., location to a larger, facility in Jessup, Md., in November, president Janice Honigberg said.
“We have outgrown our existing facility in Washington, D.C.,” she said. “This is a 63,000-square-foot building, which we are building to our specifications.”
The new facility includes 40,000 square feet of refrigerated space separated into eight chambers and a pre-cooling facility that will permit exact temperature control, depending on the product, Honigberg said.
The distribution center, which is near the Maryland Wholesale Produce Center, also will feature an Airocide air quality system.
Honigberg said the new facility would allow Sun Belle to handle larger quantities of berries, greenhouse vegetables and specialty produce.
