Organic grower Rogers Mesa Fruit Co. Inc., Hotchkiss, Colo., will market fruit from about 500 acres overseen by 10 growers, said Richard Kinser, manager.

Rogers Mesa markets organic sweet cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, pears and apples.

The sweet cherry crop was delayed by cool weather in the spring. Typically, Rogers Mesa would have been packing cherries by the second week in June, but this year it didn’t start until June 26.

Some early apricots were harvested July 1, and the crop was expected to be harvested for about three weeks.

Crops looked good in early July, Kinser said.
