Stevco brings on sales manager

Jason Fuller, most recently with Castle Rock Vineyards, Delano, Calif., has joined Los Angeles-based Stevco Inc. as sales manager, said Jared Lane, vice president of marketing.

Stevco is a major player in the Mexican table grape deal, Lane said, and should ship 1.6 million boxes of perlette, flame, sugraone, red globe, black, princess and other varieties from Mexico this season — an increase of about 10% over last year.

The company’s Mexico program should start around May 1, about five to seven days earlier than usual, he said.

Sun World International to offer clamshells

Sun World International LLC, Bakersfield, Calif., plans to offer 2-, 3-, and 4-pound clamshells of red, green and black grapes this season, said Rudy Heras, who recently was named category director for Mexican grapes and peppers.

The three-year veteran of Sun World also will continue in his role as a key account salesman.

In all, the company expects to ship 600,000 packages from Mexico this season, most of which will be shipped in June.
