Fresh Results LLC, Sunrise, Fla., is now operating out of nine countries, with four locations in the U.S.
Most recently, the company opened an office in Champagne, Ill., according to Eric Crawford, president.
The office opened in early July and Zach DeHart was hired as vice president of business of development.
DeHart comes to Fresh Results with more than 20 years of retail merchandising experience, Crawford said.
“He will be based out of the Champagne office but will travel throughout the U.S.,” Crawford said.
Naturipe wraps up campaign with avocado commission
Naturipe Farms LLC, Estero, Fla., finished a partnership with the California Avocado Commission this July.
The two companies’ combined campaign began with the Wake Up to Breakfast promotion and transitioned to Independence Day-themed recipes.
The theme for the Fourth of July promotion was Have a Blast with California Avocados and Naturipe berries, said Kyla Garnett, marketing manager for Naturipe.
Although nothing else is planned, Garnett said the experience was a positive one and future partnerships may be considered.
“Hopefully we were encouraging more consumption and the use of recipes that include both berries and avocados,” she said.
Oregon berry commission takes part in state festival
The Oregon Raspberry and Blackberry Commission recently participated in the Oregon Berry Festival, marketing director Cat McKenzie said.
The festival, held July 12-13, had an increased focus on nutrition this year.
In addition to the usual festival attractions, such as food stands and kids’ areas, the commission answered guests’ questions about the health benefits of berries at the organization’s Healthy Berry Booth.
“We had so many people stopping by to ask questions,” McKenzie said.
Santa Cruz Berry Farming beefs up acreage, organics
Fritz Koontz, owner, Santa Cruz Berry Farming Co., Watsonville, Calif., says the company is increasing acreage.
“We’ve continued a steady increase in acreage because demand has been really good,” Koontz said.
The company’s main focus is on organic strawberries right now.
“Our summer berry deal is about 30%-35% organic now,” Koontz said.
In addition, the company is looking at some new private varieties of strawberries.
