The newest management trainee at Okray Family Farms Inc. is a member of the Okray family.

Gabrielle Okray, a recent graduate of the agricultural studies program at the University of Wisconsin River Falls, has accepted a position with the Plover, Wis.-based company, said her uncle and company president Dick Okray.

“Training will take years, and every aspect of the company will eventually be in her job description,” Dick Okray said.

“She has already exceeded all expectations and is working on designing a new website, has taken charge of the farm audit and all forest crop issues,” he said.

The Okray family has grown and shipped potatoes — and products such as corn, snap beans, peas, cranberries and soy — in Wisconsin for more than 100 years.

In other news, Okray said the company has installed a tray former on its box line as well as a new Volmpack machine.

“The SWF (tray former) will allow for better and faster carton construction,” Okray said, “and the Volmpack allows for more pack volume, meaning faster order turnaround for customers.”
