(May 9, 1:24 p.m.) Michael Hoversen has joined international tomato processor SK Foods, Monterey, Calif., as chief financial officer. He will report to Scott Salyer, president and chief executive officer.
Hoversen has many years experience in the food industry and brings strength in strategic financial planning, long-term business modeling, global budgeting, cost containment and profit management, according to a press release.
He previously served 18 years as chief financial officer at Bell-Carter Foods Inc., Lafayette, Calif. Before that, he was a partner with Ernst & Young, an international public accounting firm, where he was responsible for the overall coordination of tax and management consulting of many food, general manufacturing and industrial companies, according to the release.
Hoversen earned his bachelor of science degree at Regis University, Denver.
Stefanie Salyer has been named as corporate recruitment manager at SK Foods. She has served as director and trustee on the company’s board of directors for the past two years, actively participating in the company’s strategic planning, according to the release.
She is the fourth generation of the family to join the company that her great-grandfather, Clarence Salyer, founded. She will work the SK Foods’ human resources and operations divisions in identifying new people to support the company’s growth.
She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of science degree in human and organizational development. Salyer is working on her master’s degree in history at the University of California-San Diego.
