(June 9, 3:05 p.m.) Sunkist Growers Inc., Sherman Oaks, Calif., has finalized its executive lineup, naming Kevin Fiori, senior vice president of agriculture operations for Dole Fresh Vegetables, Monterey, Calif., as Sunkist’s vice president of sales and marketing.

He succeeds Russ Hanlin, who takes over as president and chief executive officer of the citrus giant Nov. 1.

“We could not have found anyone who fit more perfectly into our operations,” Hanlin said in a news release. “Kevin has great leadership skills and is a proven team builder.”

Fiori began his produce industry career in 1979, when he joined Dole Fresh Fruit as a salesman. In 1985, he became vice president of sales and marketing of North America for Dole’s citrus division. He was promoted in 1999 to vice president of sales and marketing for Dole North American Fruit. In his most recent post, he was responsible for the growing, sourcing and harvesting operations of Dole produce in the U.S., Peru and Mexico.

“I have great admiration for the strength of the Sunkist brand and the capabilities of the team,” Fiori said in the news release. “I also feel fortunate to have developed relationships with many within Sunkist’s sales and packinghouse operations and have the greatest degree of respect for their capabilities and character.”

Fiori begins his new role at Sunkist Growers on June 30, said Claire Smith, director of corporate communications.
