Sunsweet Growers Inc., Yuba City, Calif., has named Melvin Ward vice president of member services and dryers to replace Mark Dalrymple when he retires in August.

Ward will work with Dalrymple to transition to the position, according to a company release.

Ward started as an entry-level employee at the company, which markets prunes, specialty dried fruit products and fruit juices. Most recently he was a dryer manager in Hamilton City, Ohio.

“Over the years Melvin has made the most of every opportunity, met every challenge, and has contributed significantly to Sunsweet’s success,” Arthur Driscoll II, president and chief executive officer, said in the release.

The retiring Dalrymple worked with the company for more than 30 years. Previously he held the positions of vice president of member services for Sunsweet Growers and president of Sunsweet Dryers.
