(April 16) British retailer Tesco plans to appeal a decision that would require it to conduct an environmental impact study for its recently built 820,000-square-foot distribution center in Riverside, Calif., according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise.

The March Joint Powers Authority, which is joining the lawsuit, approved the facility that serves Tesco's Fresh & Easy stores under the assumption that the center, on a former Air Force Base, is exempt from state environmental regulations.

A judge rescinded the approval and ruled that Tesco must submit a plan for obtaining environmental approvals within 90 days.
