The U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited JC Produce LLC, West Sacramento, Calif., for failure to pay 104 sellers for 104 lots of produce totaling $2,349,704.

The company is not allowed to operate in the produce industry until Feb. 7, 2012, when it may reapply for a PACA license, according to a news release.

JC’s principals — Susan Lennane, James Lennane and John Tedesco — may not be employed by any PACA licensee until Feb. 7, 2012, and only with the posting of a USDA-approved surety bond, according to the release.

Two other principals are challenging their responsibly connected status.
