(May 13) KINGSBURG, Calif. — Valhalla Sales & Marketing Co. has a new packing and storage agreement with Laemmlen Orchards Inc./Jody Cold Storage Inc., Dinuba.

Valhalla also plans to move its sales and field staff to the Laemmlen/Jody facility, said Steve Nelsen, managing partner in Vahalla, but the two companies will conduct their own sales.

Valhalla’s sales staff currently works out of a temporary office in Visalia.

Valhalla handled 1 million cartons of citrus last year, Nelsen said. The company also has a licensing agreement from Salinas-based The Nunes Co. Inc. to ship under the Foxy label.

Valhalla formerly used Wildwood Inc. for its packing and storage operations. Vahalla’s stone fruit, citrus and domestic and imported table grape programs will turn the seasonally run operation at Laemmlen into a year-round effort.

Laemmlen/Jody will continue to run its sales through Mountain View Fruit Sales Inc., Reedley, which results from a marketing and sales alliance with Mountain View in early April.
