New entrées unveiled to the chain’s 1 million Amici Club members — who signed up for exclusive Carrabba’s offers and events — include produce-plentiful Pollo Sorrento, Linguine with Clams, Mahi Wulfe and Penne Romano with Wood-Grilled Chicken.
“Fresh produce is really what is driving our business forward,” said Carrabba’s Overland Park proprietor Chris Stobaugh. “People are looking for lighter, healthier options so we’re making sure to include them in on every dish, like on our Pollo Sorrento, where we have fresh eggplant, sliced thin and topped with fresh fig port wine sauce and delicious granny smith apples.
“We also provide fresh, sliced green onions in our Linguine with Clams dish,” Stobaugh said. “We also have mushrooms and delicious red bell pepper in our Penne Romano.”
Carrabba’s describes Pollo Sorrento as “wood-grilled chicken topped with sautéed eggplant, prosciutto, fontina cheese and port wine fig sauce.” Mahi Wulfe is “lightly breaded, wood-grilled (Mahi) topped with artichokes, sundried tomatoes and housemade basil lemon butter sauce.” Penne Romano is “penne tossed with wood-grilled chicken, sautéed mushrooms and red bell peppers in roasted garlic black pepper cream sauce.”
The First Tastes event included samplings of Gnocci Fritti (breaded potato dumplings), Conchiglie Bolognese, and, for desert, Mini Cannoli (featuring pistachios) and Apple Crostata.
Pasta Seconds allows patrons to order select entrees and get a second portion of it free, either to share with other guests at the table, or to go. Each dish also comes with choice of a soup or side salad.
