Florence, Kent.-based Legion is a finalist CivilianJobs.com’s annual Most Valuable Employers for Military award, according to a CivilianJobs.com news release.
Legion currently employees veterans from the Army, National Guard, Air Force and Coast Guard, two spouses of veterans and the mother of a veteran.
“We are honored to be a finalist for the Most Valuable Employer for Military. As a service-disabled veteran, I understand how difficult it can be for veterans to find civilian companies where they feel at home,” Antony Coutsoftides, chief executive officer of Legion, said in the release. “We appreciate the sacrifice that military members and their families have made on our behalf, and feel the least we can do to show our gratitude is help with their transition to the civilian workplace.”
Finalists for the award were selected based on surveys in which employers outlined their recruiting, training and retention plans that best serve military service members and veterans.
Winners will be announced May 1.
Legion, founded in 2009, specializes in full truckload and less-than-truckload shipping for produce and other industries.
