So I guess I’m pretty boring when it comes to smoothies. I usually toss some frozen bananas (you know, from the collection of bananas on your counter that get speckled before you can eat them so you toss them in the freezer for some day when you’ll have a buffet of banana bread?) and some other frozen fruit in the blender and call it a day.
When Stemilt announced the new Fresh Blenders bag, my interest was piqued. I need a quick and easy way to get more fruits and vegetables in my diet lately, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
They sent me one of their Tart bags – a 5-pound bag with Granny Smith apples in it – along with a recipe for a tasty smoothie that included spinach and carrots along with tart apples and bananas.
I never would have thought to put an apple in a smoothie, and now I’m glad I did.
