Potatoes in school lunches remain in limbo

Whether potatoes will be allowed in school lunch meals is still in limbo.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued guidelines earlier this year that would allow only one serving of starchy vegetables, including potatoes, lima beans, corn and peas, per week.

But congressional deliberations over the 2012 appropriations bill appear to have delayed the USDA proposal.
