Overland Park, Kan.-based Compass Minerals has introduced Protassium+, a branded sulfate of potash.

The fertilizer—0-0-50-17S—is a premium, high-quality source of potassium with sulfate sulfur, according to a news release.

Known chemically as K2SO4, the product delivers 50 percent K20, commonly called potash, and 17 percent sulfur in the readily available sulfate form.

In addition, it is virtually chloride-free and one of the lowest salt indices on a K2
