Kingsburg, Calif.-based HMC Farms received the 2014 Baker Peterson Franklin Ag Business Award based on its contributions to the industry and the community.

Not only is HMC Farms a leader in agriculture, but the family-owned operation also is active at the community level. It donates more than 1 million pounds of fruit annually to the Community Food Bank and supported Reedley College with a $1 million contribution toward the establishment of a new fine and performing arts center.
Established in 1887, HMC Farms has grown to be an international producer and distributor of tree fruit and table grapes and a leader in innovative packaging.
Harold McCarty, owner, is the fourth generation involved in the family-owned company.
HMC Farms will be honored during the Ag Awards Luncheon, Oct. 29, at TorNino's in Fresno.
