The Allen Lund Co. has promoted two managers at its Charlotte, N.C., office.

The La Canada Flintridge, Calif.-based third-party transportation broker has promoted manager Jim McGuire to vice president of sales and branch operations.

After the transition, longtime employee Nate Thomas will become manager of the Charlotte office.

McGuire is scheduled to mentor and train other Lund employees in other offices and also oversee business development and sales protocols, according to a news release.

In 1998, McGuire opened Lund’s Charlotte office and has led the office to become the company’s top producer, according to the release.

Since Thomas joined Lund in 2002, he has been a key player in the office’s success, Lund officials said in the release.

Thomas possesses the work ethic, leadership skills and drive to advance the office while McGuire’s hiring was one of the best moves of the career of Lund president and CEO Allen Lund, Lund said in the release.

McGuire, who started at Lund in 1998, graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor’s in political science.

In 2002, Thomas started working as a transportation broker and in 2012, became Lund’s Charlotte operations manager.

Thomas earned a Bachelor’s in marketing from Western Carolina University.
