Berkeley, Calif.-based Andronico’s Community Markets is offering a third round of it FitBank challenge, offering customers and employees the chance to win gift cards and fresh produce for weekly gym visits.
The promotion, which runs April 3-30, is sponsored by Organic Girl and Vega Protein Powder, according to a news release.
Participants who register for the challenge online log their workouts at their favorite gym or studio through smart phone check-ins with the Sweat.Works Global gym app. More visits to the gym each week increase the level of reward, according to the release.
The first two rounds of the FitBank challenge, offered earlier this year, drew hundreds of users, according to the release. Prizes for the current contest include a reusable tote bag (first week), Vega Vegan protein powder (second week), a 4-ounce container of Organic Girl pepper greens (third week) and a 12-ounce bag of Organic Girl romaine hearts (fourth week), Participants in the contest who visit the gym four times per week can earn gift cards of up to $64, according to the release.
“In some cases FitBank rewards those already living a fit life for a job well done while others have been inspired to get moving to be able to participate in our ongoing challenges,” Bridget Kwok, director of marketing at Andronico’s Community Markets said in the release. “We wanted to create something really innovative for our local community to live a healthier lifestyle and so far its’ going great, people are really responding to the extra incentive.”
Andronico’s Community Markets launched its FitMarket program in September, part of its commitment to “Bring Healthy Back” by creating programs that encourage healthy lifestyles, according to the release. The new FitMarket department within each store has launched in all five Bay Area locations with community-centered events and healthy eating and living tips.
