Certified crop advisers in California have until June 26 to register for the Aug. 7 CCA exam that will be held in Sacramento and Fresno.

Training sessions also will be held in those two cities for applicants, according to a news release.

The American Society of Agronomy oversees the voluntary CCA program. The goal is to certify individuals who can then provide advice to growers on crop management and inputs.

Under the new Farm Bill, recipients of many types of cost-share programs must develop a whole farm plan, which a CCA must help draft.
