Tour de Fresh, an organization that uses cycling events to fundraise for the “Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools” campaign, has presented the Fort Worth (Texas) Independent School District with a check for $15,625.

The money will pay for five salad bars to be placed in district schools, according to a news release. The district had applied earlier this year to receive the funding.

Tour de Fresh presented the check at the Fort Worth Spooky Bike Ride on Oct. 27. Placing salad bars in schools dovetails with the city’s FitWorth initiative that encourages nutritious eating and active lifestyles to improve public health.

“We were delighted to be able to highlight the work that Tour de Fresh is undertaking to support our students, the FitWorth initiative, and our schools, by placing salad bars in Fort Worth ISD,” Fort Worth mayor Betsy Price said in the release. “It is our goal to make Fort Worth the healthiest city in America, and we’ve made another step forward by partnering with Tour de Fresh to offer more students the opportunity to choose healthy options throughout their school day.”
