AutoFarm of Fremont, Calif., has introduced the affordable, easy-to-install global-positioning-system-guided hands-free OnTrac2 GPS Assisted Steering System.
It helps reduce skips and overlaps, lowers fuel consumption, expands the seasonal operating window, and dramatically reduces operator stress and fatigue, according to a news release.
The split-gear design does not require removal of the steering wheel for installation. The system simply latches on and off.
It can be mounted on both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles, such as tractors, sprayers, spreaders and combines.
Its high-torque, positive gear drive delivers the turning power needed to control most agricultural vehicles while eliminating the wheel slip typical of friction motor steering systems, according to the news release.
