Greenhouse vegetable grower-shipper Hollandia Produce LP is becoming an employee-owned company.
Carpinteria, Calif.-based Hollandia Produce is in the process of implementing an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), according to a Jan. 6 e-mail from CEO Pete Overgaag to the company’s customers.
“Research has shown that employee-owned companies deliver higher productivity, profitability, employee satisfaction and loyalty,” Overgaag said in the e-mail. “While we are thrilled to reward our employees for their contributions and dedication, we are also excited for our customers and partners.”
Overgaag also announced that Hollandia’s Oxnard, Calif., facility expansion project is in full swing, adding to the facility’s production capacity.
In addition, the company is expanding its foodservice program, which features products shipped under the company’s Live Gourmet and Grower Pete’s organic brands.
Overgaag also said Hollandia will be launching two new products soon.
