PBH adds to staff

The Produce for Better Health Foundation has hired a senior director of strategy and operations.

Carrie Casey started in late July and is in charge of developing strategies to assist PBH in four key areas: strategy and operations, supporter and partner engagement, influencer engagement and consumer engagement.

She will also be handling the day-to-day operations of the foundation.

“Carrie brings great experience,” said PBH president and CEO Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak. “We’re lucky to have her.”

Kapsak said she plans to reveal a new strategic direction for PBH in an Aug. 24 call with board members.

Casey spent more than a decade working in agriculture with the Monsanto Co. in strategic communication roles, including investor relations, technology communications, and consumer engagement. She is based in the St. Louis area, as is Kapsak.

Casey said she looks forward to bringing innovative ideas to PBH members and raising consumption.

“We need to help people make better choices, which includes eating more fruits and vegetables,” she said.

As part of the personnel changes, chief operating officer Kristen Stevens is no longer with PBH.
