Fresh Eats Market, the new convenience store concept by Cincinnati-based Kroger, has fresh produce, meat, dairy and bakery.

Executive vice president and chief financial officer Mike Schlotman mentioned the “small test” of the format during a May 9 investor presentation. He described it as “a different kind of convenience store.”

Kroger did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but the Instagram page of Fresh Eats Market referenced the opening of a store in Blacklick, Ohio — in the Columbus area — inviting visitors to see “how we’re putting fresh within reach.”

A photo on the Instagram page featured a produce display with oranges, limes, lemons, apples and a wall of vegetables in the background.

According to the Kroger job site, the company is looking to fill Fresh Eats positions at two locations in Columbus and at two Turkey Hill locations in Columbus and New Albany.
