Cantaloupe production in Yuma, Ariz., has peaked and ample supplies of jumbo sized fruit are shipping, according to Legend Produce.

“The weather has been perfect with the dry climate and low humidity days helping to produce an exceptional box of cantaloupe filled with large sizes,” Barry Zwillinger, partner in Firebaugh, Calif.-based Legend Produce, said Oct. 27 in a news release.

“We are having our best fall season ever from Yuma, Ariz., with exceptional flavor,” Zwillinger said.

Production is on par with the company’s spring season in Yuma. The company has been growing cantaloupes there for more than 20 years.
