Even though Idaho's agricultural industry was hit hard by the recession, potatoes continue to be one of the state's few bright spots.


Total cash receipts for Idaho agriculture in 2009 totaled $5.4 billion, a 17 percent decline from 2008’s record total of $6.5 billion.


Potatoes remained Idaho’s largest revenue crop in 2009, bringing in a record $796 million in cash receipts, a 2 percent increase.
