Greensboro, N.C.-based Syngenta Crop Protection is one again sponsoring the regional potato blight hotlines this growing season.

Beginning in May, growers can call into the toll-free hotlines to receive up-to-date information on weather patterns, control measures and disease infection confirmations, according to a news release.

By knowing the disease pressures, growers can make informed decisions about whether to apply a fungicide.

The hotlines are operated by university researchers in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, North Dakota and Michigan.

The potato blight hotlines are available by calling:

• Idaho (800) 791-7195

• Michigan (888) 379-9012

• North Dakota (888) 482-7286

• Oregon (800) 705-3377
