The Tyler Phipps Memorial Foundation has chosen Austin Coy as the 2017 recipient of the York College Scholarship.

The scholarship awards $5,000 to a student in the wrestling program at York College York, Neb., on an annual basis, according to a news release

Phipps attended York College on a wresting scholarship and graduated with degree in business. He joined Market Fresh Produce, Nixa, Mo., in 2007 as category manager. Phipps was promoted to national procurement director in 2011 and director of field operations in 2013.

He died in September 2015.

“Both as a wrestling coach and as a college professor, I never knew a cleaner or finer young man than Tyler Phipps. He was an excellent wrestler and a model of Christian character and godly young manhood,” said Russ Dudrey, his wresting coach, in the release.
