Men are goofs, but they buy produce, don't they?

There are ten comments so far, and a great diversity of thought; I really encourage retailers to chime in on this.

Speaking of gender-based marketing, what is the latest on “booth babes” relative to our national produce associations? Are any new rules in place after the controversy last year about “Daisy Dukes” at the PMA show?

Remember this extremely active discussion?

Should PMA (and other produce shows) ban scantily clad "booth babes" from staffing expo booths? Why or why not?

Are there any updates/clarifications to the story from PMA or United Fresh?

I hope to hear that the subject of “Booth Babes at Fresh Summit” is a topic of discussion at next week’s “Women’s Fresh Perspective Conference.” http://www.pmafoundation.com/womens-fresh-perspectives-conference/ It sure would be a travesty if this “elephant in the room” does not make it onto the agenda. I find the description/overview for the conference a bit unsettling – maybe in part because PMA is sponsoring this event and has not yet, to my knowledge, addressed the “Booth Babe” controversy. If one were to insert another sub group for the word “women (they)" in this event description, such as an ethnic description, a particular handicap, or blue-eyed, etc. – I think it might sound offensive to some.
