Shopping for vegetables over the holidays is expected to be easy on the budget unless the weather plays some new tricks in southern growing areas. This week, excessive rain in California has damaged some of the crop of broccoli and romaine lettuce, so expect higher prices for these foods for the present. Cauliflower is short and celery is not plentiful, so their prices are up.
